Story Time: Cookies
We did our annual reading If You Give a Mouse a Cookie by Laura Numeroff, paired with Pat Hutchins' The Doorbell Rang. I passed out the jingle bells for the kids to ring every time the story said "the doorbell rang." We also used our If You Give a Mouse a Cookie story prop to let the kids retell the story after we read through it.
Our craft was a Mouse paper bag puppet, done with a template from Kathy's AngelNik Designs & Art Project Ideas. I altered the pocket by making it wide enough to stick the cookie inside.
All the cookie talk made me hungry, so we had a cookie treat as well.
